Green Valley Fire District

The Green Valley Fire District was formed in 1975, with a publicly elected board. The district provided Fire and EMS services, under contract, until July 2001.  At that time, the fire contract with Rural Metro was not renewed and the District began to provide full fire and first responder services. The GVFD protects 40,000 people living in an area of approximately 45 square miles; including Green Valley, portions of the Town of Sahuarita and south of the Santa Cruz County line.

The GVFD utilize their 4 fire stations to respond to approximately 7000 calls a year; 5500 EMS, 1000 community service, and 500 fire related. All District vehicles are 'advanced life support' equipped and carry a full compliment of fire and rescue equipment.
